Average depth display please

Post by gorcio »

Dear Matthias,

would it be possible to have :
1. average depth included in the logbook
2. average depth NOT RESET when resetting timer, maybe as an extra CF option ? I presume it's not just me using average depth for some (re-)calculations and resetting it when timing stops makes it completely unreliable.
Kind regards,

Dear Matthias

I'm another one that would like average depth in the logbook, makes planning on a boat with nothing but tables a lot easier

Thanks

Could I please ask for this feature to be included in the next beta, as a CF parameter ? I love using stopper to time my deco stops / deep stops, but I hate the fact that it resets average depth. Could it be left to user to decide whether reset is expected or not, by simple boolean flag on one of the unused CFs.
I would really like to see average depth in the logbook as well.

Hello guys,

sorry for switching to german ... but my english is REALLY bad !

Translation:
On the topic of average depth:
For me personally I would wish for an indication of the average depth during the dive, which should not be resetable. For me as a CCR cave diver it would enable me to calculate (taking the dive time into account) my needed bailout amount for my way back.

Todays observations :

it seems that pressing enter for whatever reason resets average depth. During today's dive I checked deco plan ... average depth was reset. At the end of the dive, I wanted to check on-line, underwater reconfiguration of gas 5 (that I had with me, and I haven't configured on purpose) - the average depth was again reset.
This is truly annoying, especially if You planned Your dive based on certain average depth. Please, make it configurable, so that whether average depth reset is left to user decision, preferably by introducing a CF parameter for it.

And it would really be great to have it available after the dive in the logbook.

Hello Gorcio,

The stopwatch with the average depth is only reset when pushing the ENTER button when no menu is displayed. I could not confirm this bug but it's likely that you accidentally pushed the ENTER button twice when confirming a new gas or exiting the menu. I'll add some ms delay here to avoid that.

Dear Matthias,

I have pressed ENTER multiple times in a row, when setting up Gas5 from 21% to 49% under water, during the dive.

It could be that I pressed it too many times when consulting the deco plan against my own runtime ... I will check it at next dive.

I have already included a one second delay (resetting the average depth is locked) after the divemode menu is left.

May I suggest in addition to tracking the average depth, that the logbook also displays the average depth for each gas used.

This would be used, so that we can easily calculate the surface equivalent breathing rate (l/min) for each gas used, to keep track for future gas planning calculations.

Thanks

Dear Matthias,

any chance to see it coming in either next beta, or in next stable ? It really is important piece of information. Also in the logbook. More important that gas switch prompts ;-)

Gorcio,

actually what are you asking for again in particular?

That's what I asked for ...

Not implemented yet.

implemented with 1 second delay between pressing ENTER button second time, as far as I understood. I would just like to see how it works with resetting timer now ... when timing stops ...

I hope it is clear now ...
