CF's on custom line

Post by ujacek »

Is it possible to show some (defined?) values from CF on main screen in surfacemode?
Because I experiment with CF settings, I need easily to check critical CF-values before every diving. For me they are GF low and high, last deco stop etc.
I imagine that this values could be present on custom line. I see three solutions:
1) Custom line with special chars represent CF values, for example %32 (or $32 or #32...) means 'value of CF32'; in this case definition for my custom line will be:
GF=%32,%33 LD=%29
with result:
GF=20,80 LD=6
2) Predefined sets of CF's (prepared by HW team) and selected by user through new CF value (0 - user text, 1 - first set, 2 - second set, etc.)
3) Hmm ... the sum of first and second solution ;)

Sorry for my bad english.

Jacek

As far as I know GF High/Low are shown on the starup screen. Last deco stop ? In surface mode ? Of which dive ? Last dive or planned dive ? I don't think that makes too much sense ...

Where?! I haven't this values on startup screen (OSTC MK2 1075 V1.70). I see firmware version, pressuer, time, date, temperature, nofly and dsat time, model, first gas, static custom text, desat diagram... Do I miss something?

CF29: Depth of last Decostop. See manual.
To check settings for this CF's I have to do many operations: Menu -> Settings -> Custom Functions I -> CF0 -> .... -> CF29 -> EXIT -> Custom Functions II -> CF32 -> CF33 ... Ufff!
This three values are only an example, they are many other critical, important or interesting settings.

Hi all,

Check the suggestions of the right button in divemode here: http://www.heinrichsweikamp.com/read.php?2,3515,3598

We can also realize this in the surfacemode (Toggling some informations with the ENTER button). One of these custom views in the surface mode could be a list of critical custom functions or the GF values.

We recently "got" a new talented programmer contributing some nice ideas and optimizations.

Hello Mathias,
definable custom text or menu on ENTER button in the surface mode - both ideas are the shorter way to show and check critical settings than wander around in the all menu. ;)
In my opinion static custom text isn't very practical function and here is a place for a new ideas.

Anyway OSTC is super and thank you for a good job.

Indeed, You are right. GFs were shown just on left side of the first gas, beneath tissue saturation graph. Now, what's left of it after having upgraded to 1.70, is a text GF, and a blank space between it and first gas. But GFs are indeed not shown any more.
It would be nice to get them back.

I'm new user of OSTC and I don't know previous versions of firmware. If GF's disappeared on main screen - is't a bug or intention?

You are right. I still think that GF's values are fundamental information (for OC GF model).

I disagree - you'll notice the benefit when diving together with other OSTC users...

GF high/lo were never on the surfacemode screen but will be in a future release.

I understand, this makes my comp unique and recognizable. I appreciate it, because I don't have this function (and place!) in my Suunto Vytec. I suggested to increase this functionality only. This line is useful, current I have text: "Check! CF11-12 29 32-33" ;)

And that’s it! :)

Good one mate,

Mine has my wife's name and mobile number so they know who to call when they find the body!

I'm not so morbid, I've got my name and mobile number so I have a slim chance of getting it back if I leave it somewhere!! Although body identification is a nice alternative...

Make sure to check the new beta 1.74 (released today or tomorrow), it displays some important CFs (Depending on the decomode) on the start screen (Toggle with ENTER).

Excellent. For me on CCR seeing the setpoint list when pressing ENTER on the Surface Mode screen is not so important as perhaps other info.

It would also be nice to see bailout gases configured. Perhaps a series of displays Desaturation Diagram -> Gaslist -> Setpoints -> Deco Info could be shown as you keep pressing ENTER
