OSTC Maximum Depth

Post by kelvkwok »

Hi,
I read the OSTC manual P.11 and it states the maximum water depth is 120m and surpassing this may cause malfunctioning or permanent damage of the device. The ZH-L16 calculation model is valid only up to a depth of 120 m.
Questions:
Will the depth reading still function if I carry it beyond 120m?
Can I use other decompression algorithm so the device still capable of deco calculation beyond 120m?
I hope they are not questions too stupid to ask.
(I am not a OSTC owner right now.)

Hi mate,

I've seen this question before. The reason to cap the Mk2 to that depth is the rating of the presure sensor. It will stop working after that depth.

If you want a dive computer capable of going beyond that depth please buy a DR5 which offers you ZHL16+GF and will offer you VPM in the near future.

I own a Mk2 and I love it. They are outstanding pieces of gear.

Best regards,

Perhaps I did not search in details enough. Thank you very much.
