Wie erkennt der Mk.2 den Unterschied zwischen Süß- und Salzwasser
bzw. was muss man einstellen, um dem Mk.2 das zuzuweisen?

if I understood well you would like to know how to change from fresh to salt water (Süß- und Salzwasser). You have to change the salinity in the setup menu: 1.00 Kg/l in fresh (lake), then up to 1.04 Kg/l is salt water (sea).

Does anyone have an fair idea of salinity to set:

* In Mediterranea ?
* In Egypte / Red See ?
* Or in other specific area...

BTW, I don't know how complex or beneficial it may be but my local salinity seems to have an average of 1.036 so 1.03 or 1.04 are neither here nor there.

Also my bottom timer and the uwatec seem to be calibrated at 0.015.

Based on dividing the depth of the bottom timer over the depth of the OSTC adjusted to salinity 1.00 or [bottom timer reading/(OSTC reading/OSTC salinity setting)]

Therefore it could possibly beneficial to add a bigger range to cater for the red sea (1.05) and to do it in 0.005 increments (so those that want to match their bottom timers are able to do it)
