multilevel simulation

Post by Vizipok »

Dear Mattias,

Would it be possible to extend the dive simulation to multilevel dives (preferably with the possibility of gas swithches for the different legs).

I would also be intrested in beeng able to simulate dives to any depth (integer). Fx now it is not possible to simulate to 50 m but to 51 m. I'm not sure but I think the same applies to time (min).

Thanks

You can do that right now. While the simulation is running press the left button to display a menu to select a different depth.
Gases can be switched in the simulator just like in dive mode.

At least this works in my firmware version (1.90).

You are absolutely correct, but it isn't much fun for dives well beyond an hour when you want to try out different profiles. Also, the gas planning lacks.

Someone already mentioned the idea if it would be possible to implement a function like +1min, +5min, +10min in the simulator. Maybe this would help!?

Hello,

Interesting idea... But I definitly don't know how to make a usable interface with two button.
IMHO, I would suggest just to have the speedup function (+1min, +10min) and to let the interface to connected softwares like DivingLog/JDivelog that already pilote the interface and replay profiles.

It's probably not too difficult to implement a speed mode, just like fast forward on my DVD player. x1, x2, x5 and maybe x10 would be sufficient. You could call that exactly like you are changing the depth by using the right button.

@Vizipok:
What do you mean, "Also, the gas planning lacks."?

A speedup function (+1min, +10min) is a good idea, but it would be even more useful if there was a freeze function such that time only changes with (+1 min or +10 min). In that way you can do exact planning (fx check deco for your different waypoints).

In simulation mode you cannot see the volume of gas used. That you can do in the planning mode. A very useful feature indeed.

hi,

perhaps it will be possible to use a non-used CF for setting the simulation mode.
something like that ?

CF xx : implement simulation mode (meter&min)
+/-:+ >1
1/10:1 <7
default :2
value:1

So you can use 2 butons as now.

A voir.
