Deco gas planning on the fly

Fellow divers and programmers. Would it be possible to enter your available deco gasses fx 7L 200 bar NX50 and then let the computer warn if you have less than fx 30% remaining according to your present deco plan (assuming your preset ventillation). You will of course need to make sure that you can reach your deco depth with the current gas.

Look around in this forum, already discussed before. I would appreciate that but as I'm now on a CCR this does'nt matter anymore (except bailing out...).

Use your pressure gauge!

Computer calculation can only be a guestimate based on average consumption. I dont think this is of any use in real diving. For this feature to be useful you need full pressure integration. I dont think this is planned for the OSTC. However, as I like the comfort of having the pressure reading on my computer I've just bought a used comouter with air integration to be used as backup in gauge mode but with pressure reading, Maybe an option for you as well. You can find those sometimes on ebay.

This doesn't have anything to do with your current gas consumption, so the pressure gague is of no value

This idea is that your TTS roughly corresponds to some predictable volume of deco gas.

I don't like the idea of deco planning on the fly
when you dive with deco mix(es) I think you are doing deep and/or long dives so gas managment is essential "before" the dive so you know how long and how deep you can go or what gasses and volumes you need

on the other hand i think it"s possible to program such feature on the OSTC

In my opinion, the OSTC is mainly a computer for experienced and/or technical divers. Those divers are able to plan their dive and dive their plan. Furthermore, an option like this would only make real sense, if the computer is gas integrated, which it is not.

Divers who plan their dives and dive their plains maybe don't need an OSTC, a bottomtimer suffices

Well, I am doing at least a rough planning with maximum depth/maximum bottom time and the amount of gas I need for this kind of dive and I stay within those limits when using the OSTC. For sure, a bottomtimer would suffice, but it's easier to use a computer than to stick deliberately to my plans
