I am new to the ostc2n can anyone tell me how to get it to do safety stops at 6m

Do you mean do the last safety stop at 6m ?
Look at Custom Function CF29:Depth of last Decostop
With this value, the depth of the last decostop can be configured (e.g. 6m instead of 3m), the decompression calculations are adjusted automatically.
Recommend range: 3 or 6 (3m or 6m)
Default setting: 3 (3m)
Example: CF29=6 - The last decostop will be in 6m, the decompression calculations are adjusted automatically.

Re: safety stops
If you actually mean a 3 min safety stop then just use the timer to count to 3 min.
Remember that it is a technical computer that will show you mandatory stops.
Other optional stops such as safety stops are not shown. (of course you can add them at your leisure)

Ditto, clock, stopwatch, watch etc...if that's what you mean. Or just have you now "old" recreational dive computer on your other arm
