And if you forget to reset the counter ... CO2 hit!
No, not for me, some adhesive tape and a pen, that's all I need.

I agree on that.

Re: Feature request - CCR - Remaining scrubber time
I'd strongly suggest not to use a diving computer then, you may forget to define your actual gas or choose the wrong deco model. This may lead to hyp(er)oxia and other serious diving accidents.
Come one, the unit is just to help you not to switch off your brain!
To be honest: Hypercapnia is a very serious risk in CCR diving. I'm just a CCR newbie but have the feeling many producers and users are not willing to address this feature. Instead they just say there is no reliable sensor on the market, define some (short) scrubber usage times and let the user alone with this situation. On the other side they do sooo much effort on this oxygen thing, many guys I know have 5 sensors in their unit. And absolutely nothing for CO2 or the remaining scrubber time. WTF?
Beside the fact there is a new CO2 sensor on the market now there would be some others ways to estimate (at least) the remaining scrubber time. Everything is better than what we have now - just nothing! So I'd support to have at least a simple counter.
TiA,
Jan

Re: Feature request - CCR - Remaining scrubber time
Hi Jan,
Sorry I don't agree with you. Anything is not always useful and in this case, one just got a thing based on something already easy to measure (previous dive(s) duration). It needs to be taken into account in the dive planning and IMO that's not something hard to remember during a dive. In one word I think there are things more worthy to work on and anyway I'll keep on using my pen. No offence for anyone.
I agree with you on C02 sensors implementation even if I'm sure they will not give a good idea for remaining scrubber duration. I'm not sure this is the place to talk about this and I'd rather go to rebreatherworld forums.
Good bye,
François

Re: Feature request - CCR - Remaining scrubber time
Sry François, also no offence from my side. It's just I see so many possibilities and no one working on a solution (regarding the CCR side not OSTC).
As RBW went completly bonkers now (closing JJ section and deleting most threads in there) I'm not using it anymore.
Thx,
Jan

Re: Feature request - CCR - Remaining scrubber time
Jan, this function could be implemented on a CCR controler (Shearwater in case of JJ or rEvo) but not on the backup device that you can take or not with you (I'm not always using two computers on shallower dives).

Re: Feature request - CCR - Remaining scrubber time
BTW, Shearwater and rEvo released a hardware extension for monitoring scrubber lifetime:

A rMS controller, when it will be available. I'm keeping the mechanics.
