OSTC Mk1 Firmware

Post by Desertrat »

Please could we have an update on when new firmware will be available for the OSTC MK1? There have been serveral new releases for the mk2 and the mk1 versions were never released.

I can't help feeling that mk1 owners are missing out on the bug fixes.

Cheers

according to HW (in private), there will be no releases for ostc1.

also, beware, that ostc1 gives too short times when last deco is set to 6m (assuming that newer firmwares are ok).

Excellent so I have a dive computer which is no longer going to be updated and it gives incorrect deco information!

Could anyone else or someone from HW confirm if this is correct. I'm running the latest version of the software available 1.8 and my last stop depth is set to 6m as we can't often do 3m stops in the UK.

Hi Rob,

According to our records less then 15 OSTC1 are out there, since we offer a very good upgrade offer to a new 2N (Contact us for details: info@heinrichsweikamp.com). Keeping the OSTC1 firmware up-to-date for the much smaller display is just impossible. Most of the new features are hard-connected to the new display, so we don't update the OSTC1 code anymore.
1.80 does not give incorrect deco information, but the safety margins have been increased since then.

Cheers,
Matthias
