Explanation on new graph. velocity (CF60)

Post by PeterK »

@HW: I'm happy to see the new graphical velocityy display. I've tried in the simulator but I have a hard time understanding this feasture. Could you please explain?

Thx Bardass, I was looking for this message but was unable to find.

But it's still not 100% clear to me:
"it uses 7 steps, the upper two steps are red. Stepsize is computed based on CF47 (Reaching speed defined CF47 is the 6th segment)."

My CF47 is set to 10 (m/min). So does it mean that each segment is equivalent to 10/6= 1.67 m/min ? And it will show the first red segment if I exceed my CF47 threshold (e.g. 10 m/min) ?

Hi Peter,

I think that the last two segments will apear when you exceed your preferred speed.

It is also my impression that the speed in numbers won't go away so just jump into the water and have a play. (That's what I'll be doing as soon as the weather improves over here.

Just came home from a dive with new FW 2.20. Everything is perfect, I'm quite happy with the new graph. Very good solution.

Anyway, I would appreciate a comment from someone who understand the code.

Is there really that much to understand?
If you want precision then you read the numeric display. If you want to know at a glance whether you go up to fast or not, just look at the graphic display.
At least that't how I go about it.

@Hansjoerg: Ich würde nur gerne wissen, ob meine Annahmen richtig sind. Dazu hätte ich halt gerne eine Bestätigung von jemandem, der den Code lesen und verstehen kann. Finde ich nicht so schlimm.
