Decosum Assumptions

Post by Anonymous User »

In CCR mode where a single diluent is used for the whole ascent (but other OC bailout gases are inserted in the Gas List for quick selection in case of bail-out), the TTS or Decosum how is it calculated? Does it assume the single diluent used, or does it assume there is diluent switching on ascent? Entering a depth instead of "0" on each Gas in the Gas List, how does that change Decosum or anything else?

P.S. Very much a newbie hence all these questions!

Hello,

Right now, the OSTC does only support one diluent gas. Bailouts are not included into the deco assumption in CCR mode. The OSTC assumes that no bailout is required and ignores any change-depth parameters of the bailout gas list in the CC modes UNTIL you switch to bailout. e.g. switching to bailout Nitrox 50 in 20m with O2 configured at 6m will include the O2 for the bailout deco.
As you can see it's essential that gases and SetPoints are properly configured before the dive.

Matthias

Diluent switch in CCR mode are generally now not practised and not advised... so it is good that the current coding does not take into account the other gases in CCR mode in the Gas List for Decosum calculation (please keep it that way)!
