Logbook Numbering

Post by Adrian »

I might be missing something, but I've seen that you can enter a start number for the log book entries so was expecting the subsequent entries to increase from that number. They didn't and just went up for 01.

I thought that they might increment when exporting (I'm using MacDive) but they were just numbered 01-22 which isn't great as it means I need to renumber each one in MacDive.

Am I doing something wrong or can this be considered for a future release?

Thanks

Hi Adrian,

i assume you have set cf28 to change the dive numbers.
When you look in the logbook on your ostc, did you see the correct divenumbers?
If so, then you have done everything right.

For Example:
Three dives in your ostc Logbook, cf28 set to 50:

dive 1 1.1.2012 #48
dive 2 2.1.2012 #49
dive 3 3.1.2012 #50

Now a fourth dive without manually changing of cf28

dive 1 1.1.2012 #48
dive 2 2.1.2012 #49
dive 3 3.1.2012 #50
dive 4 4.1.2012 #51 -> now cf28 is automatically set to 51.

I'd set cf28 to 157 before a recent trip with a brand new OSTC2n and expected the number to start from 158, but they displayed as 01, 02, 03 on the first log page.

01 14.04 35.2m 64'
02 14.04 40.3m 54'
03 13.04 34.0m 79'
04 13.04 19.7m 68'
05 13.04 32.9m 68'

I've just checked the details for log 01 and it's showing

?179 14.04.12 13:30
35.21 64:13 28'0
1010mbar Desat 45:58

which is correct, but this isn't pulling through on MacDive.

Guess it's one for their forum!

Thanks

the dive number from the detail log is not transferred to die divelog software. It doesn't do it for diving log either.
And yes you're right its something for the forum for the specific software.
