New owner to ostc 2n

Post by belowzero »

Hi.i just bought an OSTC 2N and wonder if CF28: logbook offset for detail view: is set to 0 (Disabled) if it only saves one dives in the logbook. for I have just bought a new one and it has one dive in the logbook. and I can see several scratches on it and several cf was not in default.

No it does not restrict the logbook to one dive. It just gives you the starting point for your dive numbers. For example if you have already completed 500 dives, set CF28 to 500 and the next one in your logbook will be numbered 501. You can clear the log book with a reset, so it's possible the computer has done more than one dive to account for the scratches, if that's what you were getting at.

Hi belwozero,

You need to take it back to the company where you bought it and have it replaced with a new unit.

The 2N is a brilliant product and the support from HW would be hard to match by any other manufacturer.

Let us know how you go.
Cheers,

Hansjoerg

The one dive should be a pressure test dive, I think. Mine was. Don't forget all of the units are hand made / finished so may not have the look of a manufactured Suunto. That said, if there are lots of scratches I would speak to the people you bought it from.

Enjoy it, it's a great bit of kit. By far the best computer I have owned.

Jerry.

Hi,

We always install the latest stable in English and reset all CF to default. Ask your dealer why the CF were not to default. You can also check the total dive number with Divinglog. We apply one pressure tank "dive" only.
