Yes, I tried this last night and this also worked for me, looks like the initial 'On' indicated needs toggling off and back on as you say - although when dropping back to 10m the count got reset as HW indicated - ie started from 3 mins again, not from where it was before IIRC

Not often I do no stop dives, but I guess it doesn't hurt to leave it on after all the debate that has caused it to be added

Is it possible to have 0=Off, 1=3 mins, 2=5 mins, 3=10 mins. I say this as we always do 5 mins and when doing multiple days diving in tropics tend to do 10 mins. Maybe even 0=Off, 1=1 min, 2=2min etc. Yes, can use stopwatch, but this would be nicer.

Tested it yesterday and it just works.
Thanks for that HW

I have 2 things I would like to be changed/added:
1. Start depth for counting 5.99m (als already mentioned above).#
2. Just a thought: Can the "Sicherheit 0:00" stay in the display ?

Just received my repaired unit yesterday, did the update and used the simulator only. But according to the simulator (JDiveLog) the safety stop starts below 5.0m, but soon as i go a little deeper to exactly 5.0m it disappears?

This is what i mostly see on other dive computers:
1. Start for counting at 5.0m
2. counting is visible between 6.0 - 3.0m
3. deeper than 6m or shallower than 3.0m and still some time left on the countdown will reset the countdown and start again at 5.0m

4. leaving the Water without finishing the countdown will cause an error message. And now i can hear Hansjoerg, JoStein and others screaming X(, so just forget this and reset all safety stop related flags to be ready for the next dive. (:P)

In most computers (suunto, mares, uwatec, oceanic...) going below 6m or swallower than 3m does not reset countdown, just "freezes". If you go again to the 6-3m zone, countdown continues from where it was left.

Countdown only reset if you go deeper than 10-12m.

@Bardass

Yes, i red that. But 4.99m is not 5.00m ;-) That's why i would extend the range from 5.99m to 3.00m

Hi,

During yesterdays dive I noticed that the safety stop is still shown when you violate it. Which behaviour do you prefer:

- Keep showing the remaining stop time
- remove safety stop
- continuing the countdown until 0m

I would suggest keep showing it. That way it will tell me catagorically how much I violated it by when i surface.

Strictly:
The safety stop is supposed to be 3 Minutes in one piece, like every deco stop too. So every violation has to reset the countdown and start again, when back within the safety stop limitations.

Not so strictly:
Keep the remaining stop time and progress the countdown, when back within the limitations.

I`ll rather prefer the same way it goes on suunto and other devices: Countdown stop (+/- disappears ?¿?) until you go back between 3-6m, then resumes. I think it's not useful to show the violated time on screen when you surface. No other computer does, as far as I know.

I confirm that with my Suunto D6, if decide to transgress a safety-stop it simply disappears without any trace when I surface.

And, if you transgress the safety stop, the return to safe zone, what happens? (i.e. you ascend to -2m, and the return to -3m). Countdown continues, or it disappears?

Now that I have moved to OSTC it is just remembrances (:D
But as far as I can remember it was "forgive and forget" : a transgressed safety-stop was considered as done without any resuming.

I agree. As the safety stop is just an advice and not an obligation, I prefer the behaviour: "forgive and forget"

Hi Matthias,

During a simulated dive the safety stop goes off screen at under 3 metres and does not continue to show. Are you saying that during an actual dive the safety stop stays on screen and counting even at say 2 metres?

I would also prefer the 'standard' for want of a better word, where it is displayed between 6m and 3m. If I stray outside those but then come back inside I would prefer it if the counter picked up from where it left off, if that makes sense.

Regards and many thanks for your efforts and understanding

My Suunto resumes the countdown when I ascend to -2m and descend back to -3m.

Also it forgives and after going to surface mode forgets.
