If you dive with Nitrox you can calculate the
EAD for your max depth to use a air-deco-table like
Deco 2000.
I hope the defference between Nitrox and Air ist clear...
And the
END you need if you use Tri-Mix (with He) to calculate how "stoned" you are...
for example: you dive at 80meters (260feet) and you are only so "stoned" like you dive at 40meters (130feet) with air, because you breath an TMX-Gas.
^^ it's a little bit off-topic ... new wiki?? Air/Nitrox/END/EAD/TMX/...

Ok, I think I got it. In short: END is meaningfull only for trimix, and is more conservative than EAD (because it consider O2 to be equally narcotic).
So to recenter on the topic:
- Should gazsetup menu show EAD too ?
- Only for Nitrox mixes ?

Yes, this will come (But not in the next beta, due to release tomorrow or today)

Bug, fixed.

at this point once again..
For the same reasons some have their CF19 very low in OC respective SCR I still want to bring up once more that this would be very helpful in CC mode as well if the PPO2 of the chosen Diluent could be Displayed in relation to the depth. This would make a cell verification with flushing at depth much more convinient as no tables or critical underwater brain calculation of the expected PO2 during/after a Dil flush would be required.
Marry Christmas all
and many thanks again Matthias for the great support before my Scapa trip in October

Hello Matthias!
Today updated with 1.74 rc2 and played with it.
Only two catches in with Dive Simulation so far:
a) When switching between "Customview" with [ENTER], "Decostop" and "TTS" values appears with delay (5+ sec) - think it should be restored immediately.
b) When showing "decoplan" with MENU->Decoplan with 8+ stops it could interfere with "Customview" data. For example with Stopwatch, that overlap dacoplan.

Hello Matthias!
Some new suggestions(IMHO):
_"Gauge" mode_
"Surfacemode":
- don't need "tank" with Air/Nitrox/Trimix. The same and for "CC" and "Apnoe" modes.
"Divemode" (with Simulator)
- don't need "No Stop" mask and current gas.
- in "MENU": don't need "Gas List" and "Decoplan", but "ResetAvr" should be first.
- in "Customview": don't need "Lead Tiss."
- will be good to have Average depth (for whole dive) somewhere between "Depth" and "Max." with middle font.
_"Apnoe" mode_
- "Descent" interfere with "No stop" (that should be removed) and some "Customview" - should be shifted a little bit top.
- in "Customview": don't need "Lead Tiss."
- "Stopwatch" don't show average depth (always "0.0m" ).
_ All modes_
- "Lead Tiss." long time stay "#15 (N2) 80%" and then jump to new high value (from 80% to 189% after 2m 15s, for example).
Serhiy.

If OC then the gas setup is prime information and in CC your first gas is your diluent the others are your bailouts so won't get my vote to get them removed.

The simulator IS meant to be a simulation of what you will be shown under water so how is that not relevant?

I simply don't agree with this one. Swapping gases should (must) be as easy as possible

for those that run average depths and times it may be more relevant than the actual decoplan so no big issues if this two are swapped. However, remember not everyone is interested in running avg times and timing stops (i.e. that is why we bought the computer)

Just tested 1.74 (dry)
Love it! (Best Xmas present)
Love the rolling gas/settings/deco at the surface. I live that nw I am able to check my gases, GF and other basic information without too much hassle. I allways try to check these at home but sometimes I end doing it on the boat. The new screens just make this easier.
Very handy the rolling screens under water (OC)
The decoplan still doesn't show the first stop as per the main screen.
Need to test a little bit more (especially under water) but I think that the better gas" did not blink at the arrival of the relevant depth but will try again.
Matthias, Christian, Manfred and everyone at HW. Thank you for providing us with such a quality product. Thanks for putting up with our requests throughout the year. Please have a safe and enjoyable Xmas with all your friends and family.

Hello Matthias,j
just 1.74 loaded and some tests done.
Quick resume: Some features are nice, as Dmainou already posted.
Colored tank symbols are gadgets !
Red Trimix tank... does it means trimix = dangerous! And, even a nitrox is the first gas but one trimix is active, red trimix tank is shown...
Even I got the feeling that most of the divers using Mk2 are CCR diver and they do not take care about gas switch time because of the constant pO2, I have to ask again about the possibility to have a CF used for additional stop time during gas switch, for the poor OC diver using also the MK2.
And still the first deco stop is missing in the decolist.
But in any case I will have a lot of fun with the Mk2 in the France caves the next couple of days.
Merry Christmas to all of you and keep going.
Heiko

I'm not familiar with CC, so please disregard my note about CC.
But I think in GAUGE mode information about gases don't need at all - no deco
calculation performed...

Again in GAUGE mode no deco calculations, so nothing to display...

The same here: GAUGE mode...

And again: only for GAUGE mode...

Hi,
The Mix-Icons have been discussed at our place very intensively. We decided to wait for some user feedback. If nobody likes them, we'll remove them again.
Gauge mode and Apnoe mode need some work with the new custom view field. If you're using these, stay with the 1.70 until these issues are fixed.
regards,
Matthias

Hi,

Indeed, it was mainly a proto for color icon insertions... I designed them, but frankly the current Nx bottle have an ugly green

This is definitely
the interesting part:
Deco style is NOT just your first gas.
Indeed:
- The big "Air', "75|0" or "19|30" display is the starting gas. This gives you NO GARANTYN about the gas used for decoplan. Eg. if you have as first gas some inactive surface mix, it won't be used for deco planning when you ascent back...
- On the contrary, the new information tells you something about the gases used for the planning during your dive.
Both information are useful. Both are already present if you explore your gas list. The question is more: should we see them directly in surface mode ? What is the most efficient display design ?
So we are eager of your feedbacks

Hi JeanDo,
here is my feedback:
1:0 for you on the "No Garanty". But because of this circumstances you have to check in the gas list, to make sure the expected gas selection will be part of the calculation, Nitrox or Trimix, doesn't matter.
I just do trimix dives, so I do not need to know if Trimix is in the gaslist active or not. I have to check before putting the head down under water the gaslist. Therefore I do not need this information colored, I see it as you have explained ; 21/35 or 18/45 as the first gas, all other needs to be active. If I use Trimix or even Nitrox I should not need a reminder to be sure the computer is properly setup.
Just my two cents.
And btw, sometimes we do a kind of travelling 10 min with a scooter on Nitrox and switching than on a trimix for the deeper part.... first gas Nitrox, TMX activ...
Maybe I'm to much a plan junkie, but so far it worked.
And as I understood you are part of the dev team... what's about the additonal time for gas switch, maybe colored
Cheers, Heiko

Hi JeanDo,
I understand you what you want to achieve with the mixed gas tanks and find the solution well and hope it stays. Otherwise I like the new surface menu and the new menu with some Cf`s very good.
All the best

Hi JeanDo,
i have seen some divers, the new mixed gas tank symbol is not appealing. I think it is a good reminder of the gases before the dive to check again. Perhaps it is also possible to integrate this function as CF. Thus, the diver can choose whether they want to use this funtion. In gauge mode, and apnea is the underwater mode menu list with gas and Deco is not required, but it also does not interfere.
Best wishes

Any suggestion were to put this information? Maybe we can put it to the OC ppO2 position (below the Depth). In CC modes there is space.

Hi Matthias,
happy to hear you`re considering this option!
Any place on the screen would be fine by me

Best, Kim
