OSTC2 future dvp.

hi all,

I just heard some rumors about OSTC2 FW development...


we all know technology and product development cannot stop...
we all know that market is crazy and need news every 6 months...

anyway, when I choose HW my great OSTC2 I strongly totaly agreed with:

"What this OSTC 2 dive computer is not:
Competition for cheap mass products for the occasional diver.
What this OSTC 2 dive computer is:
An experimental platform for all experienced divers who are interested in the theory of diving and who value maximum transparency and individual adaptabily"

so...

OSTC3 is nice, for sure better, more powerful etc....
but
please do not let OSTC2's FW development die ..

Why should we - the OSTC2 series stays in production. If you look into the code repository you'll find updates 1-2 times/week, it's just not enough for a new beta now.

There are many reasons to discontinue a product. For example
- consumers are not longer interessted in it
- hardware parts (display, microcontroller,...) are not longer available
- new ideas require new (and most likely more powerful) hardware
- ... and so on

So, we are just happy if that day arrives in the very far future :)o
