Over in the Red Sea at the moment and my OSTC MKII appears to have died. It was fully charged before I came out, but on the fourth dive it wouldn't switch on.
The LED is flashing red three times with a 5 second gap between. I assume this indicates something, but with the very poor wifi connection I haven't had a chance to search on it.
Does anyone have any idea's as to what the problem may be ? I'm praying that it's not now an expensive, short lived, paper weight.

Re: OSTC Mk II won't turn on
Attach to USB power and reset with a magnet at the back of the unit. It will wake-up and show some error message. You can also remove the battery and re-insert it. Make sure to close the battery compartment correctly (Fully but not with force).

Re: OSTC Mk II won't turn on
Thanks for that Matthais, I'll have to wait until I get home to try that, there are no magnets on board.
Is there any reason it may have done this ? Luckily all the diving on this trip is recreational so my backup Suunto has been sufficient, but I'm now worried it's going to happen again when I'm doing deeper dives back in the UK.
Cheers

Hi,
From here, I would say this is an issue with the battery. Should be fixable but ruins your dive (trip), of course.

Matthias

Re: OSTC Mk II won't turn on
Hi Matthias,
I plugged in a USB cable in preparation for doing the magnet trick, and immediatly got a white screen, followed by an error message as shown in the first attached file.
It's now seems to have gone into a psuedo simulation routine as shown in the second attached file. In this mode, if I bring up the menu I get Gaslist, Decoplan, ResetAvr, Display and Exit. Taking the option to exit just returns it to the psuedo simulation.
If it's a battery issue, are these easy to get hold of, or should I order one direct from either you or Deep Ideas ?
Many thanks

Just as addition to last nights findings, the screen is still on, and the pseudo simulation is still running (currently at 797 minutes). No available options will stop it.

Hi,
This looks like a defect on the sensor. Please contact us (info@heinrichsweikamp.com) or your dealer about this.

Thanks for that Matthias, I got it via Deep Ideas, so I'll give them a call first and see what they recommend.
