OSTC 2 - Menu Contrast inverted (black over white)

Hello,
tonight I was getting the computer ready for a week trip and upon switch on I find that the menu displays contrast inverted.
Same as this post:
read.php?6,17575

I was running 2.07 on an OSTC2. I have now upgraded to 2.13 and the issue resolved.
What is it? An expired software warning?

Update will resolve it.
