Hello,
I'm willing to buy a OSTC2 or OSTC Plus in a short time. Having looked at the specs, one of the main differences it's the changeable battery in the OSTC Plus... anybody knows if the battery compartment of the OSTC Plus is sealed? I mean... if it floods due a problem while closing it (bad o-ring, dust, etc), only the battery compartment will be flooded, or the whole computer will get damaged?
One minor additional point, regarded to colours: i've seen at some dealers webpages a gray/natural color for the OSTC PLus, that seems quite 'future scratch hide' in an aluminium case.. but it's not available at the HW online shop... it's not produced anymore?
Finally, i will base the decision between the OSTC2 or OSTCPlus is based in robustness and durability, because with the same functions in the two models the reliability is asured.
Thank you in advance for the help, and congratulations for your products.

Re: OSTC Plus.... battery compartment sealed?
Hello,
First: We have the silver/light grey coloured housing back in stock. It's now available and you can order it through our webpage. In terms of scratches, this is likely the most resilient colour.
The battery compartment is completely sealed, even a catastrophic flood with seawater will not harm the rest of the electronics. But depending on the amount of corrosion this will require a repair at our place.
I also have our computer comparison sheet attached to this post.
Regards,
Matthias

Re: OSTC Plus.... battery compartment sealed?
Thank you for your quick response, Matthias.
Good news the sealed battery compartment for the OSTC Plus. It's a difficult decision choosing between this two models, OSTC 2 and Plus. I won't ask your opinion.
What battery life (number of charge cicles) do you expect for both batteries? If in the future years the one from the OSTC 2 needs to be replaced... do you have an estimation of wich cost wil have the operation?
Regards and thank you again for your help.

Re: OSTC Plus.... battery compartment sealed?
Hi,
Battery manufactuerer says 500 cycles. In the OSTC2 we use a quality brand 16650 cell and a replacement costs 40EUR-50EUR.

Matthias
