Hello,
I have following values in subsurface for "battery at end". The readings seems quite odd to me...
05/02 dive 1: 3.23V 74%
05/02 dive 2: 3.24V 72%
06/02 dive 1: 3.11V 70%
06/02 dive 2: 3.18V 68%
07/02 dive 1: 3.00V 75% --> % seems strange to me
07/02 dive 2: 3.21V 64%
07/02 dive 3: 3.11V 62%
08/02 dive 1: 2.96V 75% --> % seems strange to me
08/02 dive 2: 3.06V 57%
09/02 dive 1: 2.89V 50%
09/02 dive 2: 3.26V 52% --> Voltage seems odd
10/02 dive 1: 3.05V 50%
10/02 dive 2: 2.92% 75% --> % seems strange to me

Any views on this is more than welcome.

Re: OSTC Sport - Erratic battery readout in subsurface
As you mention Subsurface ... did you verify the data in the logbook on the device itself?

Re: OSTC Sport - Erratic battery readout in subsurface
I just checked. All is in line between Subsurface and OSTC Logbook
Actual reading on the OSTC is 3.0V 47%
Actual reading on the OSTC is 3.0V 47%
Re: OSTC Sport - Erratic battery readout in subsurface
So, just to be clear. The OSTC Logbook also shows the strange 75% values on the mentioned dives?

Re: OSTC Sport - Erratic battery readout in subsurface
yes.
Note I just made a dive, after the dive I had 75%
a few minutes later the OSTC claimed the battery was at 0%
The dive has not been saved in the logbook... The OSTC complete skipped the dive...
Decided to change the SAFT battery....

Re: OSTC Sport - Erratic battery readout in subsurface
Hello,
The OSTC sport computes the battery percent on the known consumption (Screen brightness, compass, etc). In order to work with bad batteries or not-full when inserted batteries there are several voltage-dependent thresholds for the Saft battery, all based on the worst case current consumption of about 70mA:
3.0V=75%
2.9V=50%
2.6V=25%
2.5V=10%
I'd assume the battery you used was either one of the counterfeit Saft batteries around, see https://www.shearwater.com/announcement ... batteries/ (We had these here many times in customer complaints already...), a battery that was not full or a contact issue between the battery cap and the housing. Also, an update to the latest 10.51 is recommended.
regards,
Matthias
