Changing default gases in 1.90?

Post by PeterK »

I'd like to change the default settings for the gases since they are kind of funny. For example my gas 1 default is 0/10. I dont think I'm ever going to dive this kind of gas :-)
Regards

Peter

AFAIR this could be set in jdivelog!? Can't test it due my box is running 1.91 already :-)

Did not try jdivelog as I normally use divinglog. THis software shows no option to change the defaults.

Checked it again, my defaults are not 21/0.

Any advise?

Hi Peter,

You can also reset the defaults with 'Reset -> Reset all Gases, CF and Deco'

Dear Matthias,

thanks for the response. What happens to my customized CFs when using the recommended reset function?

Thanks Matthias, resetting gases solved the issue. By saving my CFs to the binary file and later restore I managed to restore all my personal settings.

Great stuff.

How do you write the CFs to binary in Diving Log
I have set the option to true in the advanced settings but what do I next?

In the same window you'll find the path where the binary is stored. The default setting is using one of the user specific directories of windows. However, as these are named differently in english and german I cant tell what it looks like in your system. Kepp in mind that the default path is hidded, so you cant see in the explorer. Anyway, you can select any patch you want, e.g. the desktop.

Now you have Divinlog to read data from the OSTC. This will generate the binary. Check its presence. Now you can reset your OSTC. Once the reset is completed change the Divinglog setting to Writetobinary=No and Readfrombinary=Yes. Now go to the options, make one change to activate the Write to OSTC-Button. That's it. Have fun.
