Quick question

Post by Smiler1968 »

Hi, I don't yet have an OSTC 2N but that's only because the supplier has sold out. I saw one of these on a night dive recently and was smitten.

I am used to my Suunto Vytec DS. That displays a TTS for the mix you are using. As/when you swap to your Deco gas, the TTS is recalculated.

From what I have read the OSTC 2N displays a TTS based on the available gasses you have entered. What if I lose my deco gas. At what point does the unit recalculate? Or do I have to switch off the available gas? What if I am late switching to my deco gas?

I would be interested before I shell out the cash.

Many thanks

Smiler.

If you don't switch to your deco gas, the unit recalculates TTS after a few minutes. Furthermore, it is possible to activate and deactivate gases during the dive without any problem ->it takes a few seconds for the unit to recalculate TTS then using only active gases.

Thanks for the response. I thought that might be the case but it's nice to have it confirmed.

Now to find the cash and wait until they have them in stock.
