OSTCmkII problems

Post by humpbackdiving »

right this is seriously doing my head in... i got my ostc about 6 months ago. it was second hand. i have finally got some time and fancied updating the software. first the ostc did not was not switching on. so i plugged it in thinking... hmm bizzare i am sure the bsttery was not anywhere near flat. when i plugged it into my laptop the screen went sort of pink/orange color which i found odd. then once it started up it shows all settings (ccr) reset to oc.

i tried to connect to pc but the tiny boot loader cannot find the ostc. com port ticked btw.

when plugged to laptop the screen display "pulsates/floates". However when i unplug the ostc from the laptop it does not want to fire up despite 4/5ths of the battery.

ohh it was also saying for a moment
building md2 hash
please wait.......

in one word... HELP

Two questions
- Did you do an update to version 2.0
- If yes did the update run its full course, meaning, did at the end of the update the sequence "Please wait" conclude?
Cheers,

Hi,

Can you please check the battery of your Mk.2? Seems like a problem with it, maybe the battery died or the compartment flooded? If we should have a look at it -> info@heinrichsweikamp.com You'll have it back and working within a few days.

regards,
Matthias

as I sort off expected the response is quick and support fantastic. thank you.

Having slept on it... not literally though... I am going to change the battery first and if this does not help I will send it to you, Matthias.

However any ideas why my pc does not see it? it registered it on a com5 but the loader cant communicate.

thanks Greg

Hi,

Don't use the bootloader when there may be problems with the battery.

First things first: Remove the battery, check for any damage/water and then we'll continue.
