Hi,

I'm not able to setup/fix "driver" in dive computer settings and "com port".

I'm sure that com port works correctly when I use OSTC planner or Macdive.

Somebody can help me?

Can you choose OSTC in the driver pull down menu?

If you can't choose these settings in jdivelog then I would suggest you reinstall jdivelog. I doubt very much its a com port problem.

I've installed jdivelog several time but every time I can't choose OSTC in the driver pull down menu.

Will be possible in future to upload firmware with a new version of OSTC planner for Mac users as is the case with bootdownloader for win? I hope so

Do you have the choice of dive computers, you see in the picture, in your pull down menu?

I repeat that both macdive and ostc planner are able to recognize my MK" thus there exists com port

You have two options.
1. See whether you can get help in the jDiveLog forum.
2. Find a friend with the PC so you can install the firmware update on a PC.

Ohh and finally, have you tried on another Mac?

Or use virtualboxon mac
I don't understand why it doesn't work with your mac

I do see the point though that there should be a Bootloader for Mac. Unless the SW for the frog could also be used for the 2N. I am sure the SW for the frog will have a Mac version (I hope)

Also I would think it would be neat if JD could include a FW upgrade in OSTC Planner.

gibt es neuere oder andere treiber für den mac mit 10.7 ???
bei mir ist plötzlich keiner mehr da auch nicht nach erneuten installationsversuchen.

bin ein wenig ratlos
um das wort angefressen nicht benutzen zu müssen

Hast den OSTC per USB am Mac angeschlossen? Der Treiber wird nur dann auswählbar...

über nen bindfaden ???

er wird auf jeden fall geladen (ladelämpchen blinkt) aber das soll ja nichts bedeuten.
im system-profiler wird er auch angezeigt.
am ppc mit 10.5.8 wird er noch erkannt und es wird auf wunsch auch der versuch unternommen daten vom ostc zu holen, nur hängt sich dann jdivelog auf.

nach etlichen versuchen ist es mir gelungen.
der treiber ist wieder da aber "Der Com Port ist bereits besetzt" ist der dauerbrenner auf allen kanälen
egal welche Protokoll Version ich auch nehme,

Nein, hät ja sein können dass du den Compi nicht am Mac hängen gehabt hättest, dann ist auch der Treiber nicht auswählbar...

Und was hängt sonst noch alles per USB dran? Ich hatte z.B. mal meine GoPRO Kamera angeschlossen, da wurde der OSTC auch nicht erkannt... Also mal alles ausstöpseln und nochmals probieren.

mir als altem apfelnutzer ist ja schon einiges untergekommen aber so etwas hab ich noch nicht erlebt.

Did you try to run JDiveLog as root?

JDiveLog as root:

To run as root:
1. Open terminal
2. enter: sudo su root
3. enter: /Applications/JDiveLog.app/Contents/MacOS/JavaApplicationStub

If this works, your problem is that 'you' are not in the _uupc group.
Where 'you' is your account on your Mac.

You get to know your account name if you execute:
whoami
in a terminal

To make an new group on your Mac and add your account to that group, execute the following commands:

first switch to 'root' :
sudo su root



Create a group with groupname _uupc:
sh-3.2# sudo dscl . -create /groups/_uupc

Give that group _uupc a groupid 66
sh-3.2# sudo dscl . -append /groups/_uupc gid 66

Add a user bruno to group _uupc
sh-3.2# dscl . append /Groups/_uupc GroupMembership bruno

Check group membership of user bruno:
Bruno-Van-Bogaerts-MacBook:~ bruno$ id

darf ich dich nach deinem Lösungsweg fragen? Ich kämpfe erfolglos mit dem selben Problem ! Wen ich jedoch die Linux Version installiere, dann funktioniert es !

Ich benutze die aktuelle OSX 10.8.2
