Not possible to download

Hi

I can not download my dives from my OSTC 2N, I have tried several cabels, several computers, several different programs and i have updated the drivers.

NB: I can charge the OSTC from the computers

Could anybody here tell me how to proceed from here, please.

Did you install FTDI drivers before ?

Not before, it worked straight out of the box - then suddenly - no downloads. An then i tried FTDI drivers to no avail.

Hi,

Check things systematically instead of trying all your cables and computers.

a) Is the computer recognized from the PC (Device Manager)?
b) Does the OSTC see that it's connected (Battery symbol is turning red)?

If a) and b) are true the hardware is fine and you can download the dives. No need to install any drivers.

In most cases the cable is broken or the contacts in the OSTC ae a bit wet or corroded. Both can be fixed with some WD40. When testing other cables make sure they have a small head that fits inside the USB bulkhead of the 2N, when not fully inserted the unit may charge but may not communicate.

Hi Again

I have tried with WD 40 - this does not work any better - and I have connected another OSTC 2N with my cable to my PC and this works flawless.

So just to sumarise: my OSTC 2N is not connetable to PC anymore. What can I do ?

I did send my OSTC to HW, they did look into things: and yes my computer is dead.
, and apparently not fixable.
