hwOS Sport: New Firmware 10.53

Hello,

The new hwOS sport firmware 10.53 is now available for download:

The following changes have been applied:

10.53:
BUGFIX: New battery menu was not visible after battery insertion on certain hardware versions
10.52:
NEW: Updates OSTC 2 TR computers to RX-Firmware 1.37
BUGFIX: Fix (another) critical issue with compass routine

With the revised new battery menu this update is strongly recommended for all OSTC plus users but can be installed on other hwOS sport devices, as well. It contains RX firmware 1.37 for all OSTC 2 TR users.

Hello, I have just update my OSTC sport with the new release.
But My Battery was at 72% juste before the update, now it is 100% !

I think it is a recurrent problem with the update...

Any solution in the future?

Hi,

this "problem" is kind of unsolvable, since we can't look into the battery itself and gauge the chemical-bound power that's still in it. Instead, we measure the voltage and track the amount of charge that was taken out. Even not knowing how much charge the battery still will be able to deliver before it is finished up, we calculate a percentage value from a best trade of both values. On a cold start of the computer, following any firmware update, certain tracking data are inevitably lost. In the formulars used, battery characteristics are build in, which is why it is important to set the correct battery type. Once your used-before battery will drop its voltage past certain tresholds, you may see a step-correction of the percentatge value.

Actually, it's quite an effort that's put into the battery management, as one should think a dive computer is mainly dealing with dive and deco calculations...

There are two versions: German/English and Italian/French

make sure to install the "v10_53_DE_EN_ostc_sport_firmware.hex".

Hello Mathias,
I have just received my third OSTC..
I lost my OSTC 2
I have still my OSTC Sport 12085 and
I buy a new one 21357 for my wife.
This new one comes with the firmware 10.53 (English /german).
I discover the menu, use the compas after calibrate it..it was very sensible... but the compass was functionning.
After that I donwloaded the version 10.53 french ... everything okay except the compass... not possible to calibrate it and so the compass is not functionning.

The battery is a Energized Lithium one..that I used before with a lot off problem with the compass..on my 12085. Now I use standard AA Battery without problem.

So is it a problem of firmware ? (ok with EN/GER but not with the French version??) or a problem with the battery type?

I change the battery and put a "Duracell" Battery...But compass is still not functionning.
I reinstall de 1.53 Fr version but no change...

Any help?
