PC Simulation to match?
PC Simulation to match?
I am familiar with Vplanner software and use it occasionally, if I am going to use custom backup tables with my OSTC.
Is there similar planning software available to match the OSTC's model, including using GFs? (and print out tables to match the GFs?)

Re: PC Simulation to match?
I tried GAP, which features the same model (ZH-L 16C with GF) like the OSTC and that worked on "dry runs"
I did no in-water-testing.

Re: PC Simulation to match?
I use GAP too for planning.
There are other options which use Buhlmann with GF, but GAP is the most reliable I have found so far (in the sense that the other programs that I have tried often crash or do not run on my pc).
I also have a freeware version of JDeco which runs on mobile phones and Blackberrys. It also supports Buhlmann+GF, but it has many limitations, unless you pay for the full version. Price is similar to that of GAP in its cheapest flavour, i.e. OC and nitrox only (~40-50 EUR)

Thanks guys, will download a trial of GAP and have a play.

And Mv-plan as the same feature than the OSTC, no more than 100 m.
Based on the same deco algorythm, http://damiensiviero.com/Diving.aspx

Re: PC Simulation to match?
thanks, will also have a look at MV-plan

Re: PC Simulation to match?
Hi,
I use WINGUI, I don't know if this SW is available in English.
The WINGUI are working with ZHL 16c or ZHL 16b.
Regards
Alex

Re: PC Simulation to match?
I use MV-plan too, and recently I asked them to implement the factor for faster compression and slower decompression too (as it is with the ostc). It seems Guy Wittig is willingly to add that feature, which would match the model used in the ostc... Only one question: for ascending and descending parts of the profile, suppose the ostc is programmed as follows (mainly the place where the 'factor' is used is important here) - I still have to answer that to Guy Wittig, so he can implement it in mv-plan in one way or another:
deltaP = (Pio+R(t -1/k)-[Pio-Po-(R/k)]e^-kt) - Po
P = Po + factor * deltaP
Besides this, one more question, just to be sure: if the ostc is set to use the L16-GF algorithm (instead of ZH-L16), the factors for faster compression/slower decompression still apply, don't they?
