New OSTC does not start anymore

Hi all,

I have a big problem with my new OSTC 2 sport edition (version 10.61). I bought it in July 2019 and it has dived about 25 times. Its last dive was on the last past week end. After this dive, I downloaded at home, my dive with subsurface software without any issue. Battery was at 80% remaining.

This morning, I tried to start it manually before diving but the screen didn't switch on. I dived anyway with it and with a second computer. There was not improvement with my OSTC.

At home, I wanted to check whether the battery was empty or not. I put it on the charging pad but it seems nothing happens : charging pad is flashing in green every seconds for one seconds as soon as I put my OSTC on it. Screen remains switch off.

I have doubts about my charging pad (look at the pictures I took) and about my OSTC computer... Neither the charging pad nor the dive computer seems to work.

Furthermore, the first and only time I used the charging pad, I could refill the battery but it took more of 24 hours to be done, much more of the seven hours the manual says.

I am just thinking that before this issue, the OSTC compass had a strange behaviour. When I start calibration, I can see the 3 axes change if I move it but when it is finished, compass mode indicates always the same heading. If I wanted to get a "normal behaviour" (i.e. heading change when the compass points in other directions), I had to start the calibration without moving the compass... So I am wondering if the problem does not come from there.

Hi all,

I solved the "wake-up problem" by putting a magnet on the screen, while my OSTC was charging. OSTC rebooted. Since this fact, I did one dive and I didn't had issue.

I am surprised about what you said Matthias : "charger looks ok". On my charging pad, on the charging side, the appearance is not as the same as the appearance of the picture you show on your website. Moreover, yesterday, I charged the OSTC again from 76% to 99% and it lasted more than 4 hours, so much more of the 7 hours in manual if I have to charge it from a low level of battery.

Finally, the compass seems to work when I do calibration, but I have to calibrate it very often or sometimes repeatedly.

Turned it upside down and tried to load on the charger - OSTC did a re-boot.
