I noticed recently that the OSTC4 source code is now available for download. Is this intentional ?

Re: OSTC 2 2017 : Battery
I suspect that once you have recharged the battery you will have to reset the battery status by using the battery reset menu :
Settings -> More... -> More... -> Reset Battery -> New Battery -> Internal 16650
And thank you for the information Matthias.

OSTC 2 2017 : Battery
If the battery on the OSTC2 2017 is completely emptied, the "New Battery" menu is shown when the device is placed on the Qi charger.
Is the battery type "Internal 16650" / Type 4 ?
Is this battery user-replaceable or is it potted in resin ? I'm just curious.

It looks like your OSTC3 is set to the wrong colour display mode ?
Perhaps try :

OSTC 3 and DiveCAN CCR Sensor Support
Good day
I have an OSTC 3, which has an infrared data port. I was wondering if there is a way or a planned device that will allow an OSTC 3 to access Oxygen sensor readings from a JJ CCR via the DiveCAN system ?
As far as I understand the DiveCAN implementation on a JJ CCR makes an auxillary port ...

Re: Feature Request : Make NDL on OSTC Sport Optional
I bought my Sport before I finished my OWD certification. Lately I've been diving with a buddy and we've been using GUE's Minimum Decompression Limits, which effectively replaces NDL. It would be very useful to have NDL as optional, so that during these "team" dives the display of the computer doesn ...

Re: OSTC4 source code ?
I recently visited DeepStop in Germany (and bought an OSTC 3). I got a chance to play with an OSTC 4... It's big, but really awesome. Clarity of the display was incredible, very responsive.

Re: OSTC4 source code ?
Is the OSTC 4's source code written in a similar way to the OSTC 2's source; mostly ASM with some C (deco_p2.c), limited used of local variables in favour of global variables, no input variables on functions and no returned variables in favour of global variables, highly procedural/not object ...

Re: Decompression model source code and verification/checking
I would have expected that these kinds of queries would have been welcomed by HeinrichsWeikamp. They're not difficult questions to answer; "yes, yes, no" or "You need to buy an OSTC 2/3/4 to ask these kinds of questions".

In your hwos_code repository you have automated tests for gas volume consumption in "Tests", do you have tests for your deco model ?

You really should use the SAFT batteries; they last much longer and they have a highly predictable discharge profile. Their power output is also not affected as much by cold temperatures.

Re: OSTC3 firmware on OSTC Sport?
I suspect the Sport uses a bootloader that verifies a signature on the firmware to be booted or refuses to flash firmware that isn't signed. There are many ways to prevent someone from running unauthorised code on an MCU.
In any case, coding in ASM would be painful ;) . It is nice to be able to ...

Hardware, Open Source, Logging Frequency and Resolution
Hi
I'm considering buying an OSTC Sport. I like open source software and I mostly use Linux; being able to read logs on my Linux machines is important to me. I like to know how things work and it is nice to be able to modify them if necessary.
